1. Japanese Breakfast – For Melancholy Brunettes (and sad women)
Originally I had Sun Kil Moon’s All the Artists low on the list, but was actively searching for a replacement. I stumbled upon this gem. One track of note “Men in Bars” I added to my liked songs before realizing it featured the dude Jeff Bridges himself.

2. Car Seat Headrest – The Scholars
A based album that I thought showcased the artist’s growth. At a certain point you stop being that angsty teen. It was nice to hear that he wasn’t trying to fake it.

3. Viagra Boys – Viagr Aboys
I wasn’t a huge fan at first. I think it might have reminded me a little too much of death grips, but the album as a whole really has a way of growing on you. I especially enjoyed the conclusion to the album.

4. Big Thief – Double Infinity
Adrianne Lenker is the GOAT, but I don’t know about this one. More of a vibey album not as focused on lyrics.

5. Addison Rae – Addison
The album’s no masterpiece. However, there’s something I can admire about what was just a TikTok dancer creating an original piece of art instead of… well you know. Addison creates the perfect vibe for late night drives. If there are Gen Zrs in the car I would wait until prompted to announce who the artist is.

6. Panchiko – Ginko
Another album that grew on me. When I first gave it a listen I felt odd even putting it in my list. It didn’t have that radiohead vibe I loved in their earlier albums. That being said, the album is dreamy and gets the job done while I’m preoccupied with other things.

7. Dave – The Boy Who Played the Harp
James Blake and British rap make a great combo. This felt like Dave’s most complete album. Very good overall.

8. Blood Orange – Essex Honey
Very emotional. Honestly forgot about this one until I started making my list. Isn’t the best album as a whole, but does have a few standout tracks. I really enjoyed “Look at you”.

9. Panda Bear – Sinister Grift
Psychedelic. The middle of winter is not the right time to listen to this one.

10. Geese – Getting Killed
I don’t really know what to say about this one. Kinda thought the album was all over the place. Still pretty good.
