Concert Of The Year: Orbital at Brooklyn Steel. The brothers first NY gig in 15 years. Who ever thought I could EVER be so 1994???

Disappointing Concert(s) Of The Year
: St. Etienne, twice, in Brooklyn and Montreal. So much of “Good Humor” was not meant to be played live and it showed like a worn pair of pants. And with all of her on-stage charm, I had to wonder if Sarah Cracknell should hang it up. #outoftune

Most Anticipated Tour Of 2019: The Mekons, of course. My disfunctional family of choice, straight outta Chicago. My biggest question: why are tickets 15 pounds in London and 35 dollars in Brooklyn? (Answer: they are American now).

Overwrought, over-discussed, just over & over forever award: Bruce Springsteen on Broadway, Bruce Springsteen’s book, Bruce & endless Bruce. The whole thing “stinks of zen,” even though I am an original fan (saw “Darkness” tour at MSG). Bruce gets depressed, Bruce is friendly to motorcycle riders who rescue him, Bruce can play the same show 6938 times in a row, Bruce is the champion of the working class—but you better have $2000 to see him play. ENOUGH! (Next he will get serious props for not liking Trump.)
