Nightmares for a Week

Jim Meyers Poop 2018

A few thoughts, if I may. I’m an antiquated analogue relic. All the titles on my list I own on vinyl. I adore the tactile aspect of objects. That being said I am more than willing to embrace the new “digital” delivery of the PooP. One can bring one’s phone into the loo after all, right? The future is clearly female. Or at least this year was. The majority of the artists I binged on this year were female lead. Not sure what, if anything this means, but I found it interesting.     Buy New or Used via Amazon    Rent…

Paul Cangelosi – Poop 2014

Buy New or Used via Amazon           Rent via iTunes [?] Reverend Horton Heat: REV (Victory) I’m so glad that they went back to their crazed Rockabilly sound. There’s still a couple slower toe tappers with that country twang but they are damn good as well. It’s their best since Full Custom Gospel Sounds back in 1993.     Buy New or Used via Amazon           Rent via iTunes [?] OFF!: Wasted Years (Vice) This is about as riff-driven a disc as you can get. I loved First Four EP’s but this…

1. Nightmares For A Week — Civilian War Local heroes deliver their best yet, bringing a nuance and rootsy depth to their usual winning sing/shout along choruses and melodic muscle. “Bloodshot Monday” is by far the song I played the most this year. 2. Superchunk — I Hate Music I grew up with these guys from a “slack mother fucker” to my forties, where my couch looks as good on a Saturday night as the local used to, both a beacon. Whatever, they still sound terrific and “Me and You and Jackie Mitoo” is an all time great song. 3….

Paul Cangelosi Poop 2013

(in no particular order)     Buy New or Used via Amazon Joan Jett & The Blackhearts: Unvarnished (Blackheart Records) I haven’t followed her career much over the years but I picked this up and was psyched to hear her rocking hard with her classic rock riffs. She’s still got “IT”.     Buy New or Used via Amazon Wau Y Los Arrrgh!!!: Todo Roto (Slovenly) This band is about as perfect for my taste in music as you can get. Crazed garage rock with wicked keyboard action. The vocals are as manic as ever. Still can’t understand a single thing he’s…
